Dance Artist

Daniel Jeremiah Persson is a Swedish dance-artist, based in London since 2011. Psychology, travelling and cross-disciplinary practice drawing on photography, film, poetry are fundamental to his body work. Diversity, play and reflection are central to Daniels artistic approach. This has lead him to do dance teaching in Gambia (2011), a photographic project in Australia, as an extension of Yoko Ono's exhibition "War is Over" (2013/14) and a performance at "Walking with you on the way to Wellbeing" an event by KoRoot, funded by KAS in South Korea (2014). In South Korea he also finished a documentary film From'Me' to South Korea in collaboration with Danish award winning filmmaker Malene Choi Jensen. This film explored Daniels heritage and roots in Korea as an adoptee.

In 2014, Daniel was a runner-up for the Deutsche Bank Awards with Humanah Productions, a company he founded with dance, music and film artists. The same year, he started working as a dancer in Alex Howard's 'Without Measure' as well as performing in pieces by Eva Recacha, Anders Duckworth & Julia Kalache.

Daniel has experience working as an Audiovisual Technician at London Contemporary Dance School and a Digital Producer Assistant at The Place from 2015/16. His artistic expression is now combined between his work with Humanah Productions and projects in physical performance, choreography, videography, production and performance art. Daniel is working in association with Trois C-L - Centre de Creation Choreographique in Luxembourg towards a new piece based on Nordic folklore, premiering in May 2017.
